A Harp of His Own

UPDATE:

THE HARP HAS BEEN 100% Funded!
THANK YOU FOR ALL WHO DONATED SO GENEROUSLY!

--

In the past 10 years, Calvin Arsenia has perforDmed in 10 countries, 15 states, and shared his craft with tens of thousands of people, all on borrowed and loaned folk harps. In order to grow in his craft, Kansas City’s darling harpist needs your help to obtain a harp of his own and he’s thinking big.

The Rainbow Acoustic Electric Harp by Salvi is the perfect harp for Calvin. Not only is it beautiful, but it will allow him to continue to study and experiment with orchestral arrangements which have been off limits for him thus far.

The Harp necklace was personally designed and handcrafted by Calvin himself as a gift for those who contribute to Calvin’s harp fund. The necklace is made of titanium quartz and matches the exact color of Calvin’s dream harp.

Titanium quartz is known to amplify and magnify healing energy and clears and cleanses chakras. It helps to balance both body energy and healing thoughts. It is used to enhance creativity. Helps to remove blockages, is said to be capable of carrying a higher frequency range, and is grounding while in a higher state of consciousness.

A Harp of His Own: Help Calvin Arsenia raise funds for an orchestral harp!

Donors above $300 will receive the Harp Partner Necklace - a taniumized quartz necklace that I have handmade with the guidance and instruction of artists Sydney Pener  and Ngan Vuong

$1000 and above will be listed as a producer of the harp instrumental record I will be recording once I get my hands on the instrument.

$5,000 and above, I will play a private concert in your home for you and your pets or whoever you want to invite! (No public or ticket performances for this - let’s keep it intimate)

“Glowing with warmth, vulnerability, and a heavy heart, Arsenia’s intimate reflections depict the past and present wrestling within the individual as he endeavors to chart his own course in the world.”—Atwood Magazine

Both a journey of individual healing and a call for action, these poems show that, with a little love and acceptance, anyone can flourish.

From one of Kansas City’s most exciting singers Calvin Arsenia, comes a debut book of poetry and prose Every Good Boy Does Fine. Named for the classic mnemonic used to teach the lines of the treble clef (EGBDF), his collection speaks to his passion as a musician and also his deep and tumultuous history in the Evangelical community.

Arsenia includes elements of queer poetry, writings on racial awakening, Christian de-conversion, and sexual awakenings in a homophobic community with the hopes that, when finished reading, readers will feel ready to start their own journey of self-expression through music and performance.

A profoundly thoughtful and enlightening work, Arsenia uses his lyrical talent to show that there is always somewhere to go no matter where you are coming from.

FAQ

How much do you need to raise?
Calvin is raising $30,000 for the orchestral harp, supplies (case, strings, tuner, etc), insurance, and shipping.

But I have seen him with many harps over the years... what happened to them?
Calvin has been fortunate enough to befriend and work with other harpists since he began playing almost a decade ago. Since then, acoustic harps have been kindly loaned to him or rented on a need basis. The black Delta harp Calvin plays will still be in his possession for the time being - it is also a loaned harp sponsored by Lyon and Healy in Chicago.

Why the Salvi Acoustic Electric Rainbow Harp?
This harp will provide Calvin the necessary instrument to expand his repertoire beyond what Celtic harps have allowed him to do so far. It also has built in electronics that allow the harp to be heard louder stages. The color is representative of Calvin's artistry and desire to be a bridge for all people

Why aren't you using gofundme or kickstarter?

Most crowdfunding websites take 8%-14% fees for their service. Calvin is taking a chance in believing that there may be support enough without spending this extra money on a middle man.

Will you accept checks?
Yes! absolutely. Checks can be made out to Calvin Arsenia C/O Quixotic 1616 Broadway Kansas City, MO 64108. Please make sure to include an email and phone number so you can be notified when the harp arrives and the first concert will take place

Can I see this harp?
