8:30PM
In celebration of the Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium’s 25th anniversary, Union Station will be hosting a number of events at the planetarium during the first weekend of November, 2024. All events will be co-produced and curated by Digital Dreams KC, and will feature artists and experiences made possible by the planetarium’s newly renovated adjustable and removable seating solution.
Confluence premiers at the planetarium as our headlining 25th anniversary performance! In a world-wide first, Voler Thieves of Flight, KC’s Premier Aerial Ensemble will take to the skies under the 60-foot dome theater, showcasing their 15 years of experience and innovation, bringing edgy and experiential aerial dance and acrobatics to the KC community. But visuals are only half the story, as acclaimed musician and performer Calvin Arsenia crafts an auditory tapestry that will allow Voler’s silks to truly sing. Voted KC’s Best Musician 6 years in a row, Arsenia’s angelic stylings on voice and harp create rare harmonies and arrangements that look past the boundaries of his traditional gospel and classical upbringing, creating elaborate and ceremonious sensory concert experiences that merge jazz and electronic influences. Your senses will be transported through the aerials, music, and visuals, provided by Kansas City Art Institute Assistant Professor of Animation, Evan Tedlock.
General Admission is $50
